“Oh no!” Toby screeched, with his heart racing and his breathing anything but steady. “Not the flying dream again,” he groaned as he wrestled with the blankets on his bed before lying back down to watch the first rays of sunlight peek through his bedroom blinds.
Under normal circumstances, Toby would have jumped out of his bed by now, happy to begin a new day. But not today. Today, he needed more time to think about the flying dream he just had and how similar it was to another one, where he flew through the sky in a big, green chair while being chased by a UFO. But instead of being chased by a UFO, this time, he was chased by a blob of pulsating, angry colors that reminded him of a raging fire!
Not sure what to make of his latest dream, he covered his ears with his hands, still hearing the blob yelling at him, as it kept pace with the green chair that raced through the sky at vapor speed, like a rocket-powered aircraft. Up and down through the clouds, the chair flew, with the fiery blob getting so close to Toby at one point that it almost grabbed him! But the chair took off in a flash, leaving Toby with just enough time to watch the blob turn into a freaky orange and yellow golf club with eyes as scary as those on a cornered rat.
Trembling, he couldn’t stop thinking about how parts of his first flying dream had actually come true. So, it isn’t completely stupid of me to think about the possibility of this flying dream coming true, too, is it?
Feeling uneasy, he burrowed back down into his bed and pulled the covers over his head. Bad dreams are a walk in the park compared to flying dreams; he decided as he rubbed sleep from his eyes. One thing is for sure, he concluded before poking his head back out. If my latest flying dream decides to play out in real life like my last, I think I might be in for one of the scariest adventures of my lifetime!
